Top 10 Tired Website Ideas:
Websites that only work in one browser

Research shows that the words "best viewed in" followed by the brand name of a browser, such as Internet Explorer or Netscape, are an automatic turn-off to many web surfers. These words seem to say "if you don't use this browser, you're not welcome here".

The solution adopted by many designers is to design for only one browser, and simply not tell anyone. The user tries to view the site, but can't because his or her browser is incompatible.

We think this is silly. Designing a website that's viewable across multiple operating systems and browsers isn't rocket science. It's quality control. Every website we design is cross-platform tested in multiple browsers, and complies with W3C coding standards.

Putting your users' needs first is just good business.
