NCC and Citycon to begin construction of a new campus

NCC and Citycon will start the construction of a new campus for the Satakunta University of Applied Sciences, SAMK, in Pori.

Project started already in spring 2014 when NCC and Citicon won the planning competition for the new campus site. Now city of Pori has given permission to start the construction and actual work will start in December with preparatory and demolishing works.

The new campus will be located in the city centre of Pori, on the square next to the railway station. Currently, there is an office and retail building on the plot, most of which will be demolished. Old buildings will be replaced with new 4- and 5-story office buildings, where new educational facilities are located.

Spring 2017

Real estate company Koy Porin Asema-Aukio and NCC Construction Ltd have signed the project management contract of 24 million EUR. This contract covers 25 000 m2 with new educational facilities, laboratories, library and sport hall. The premises will be handed over to SAMK in spring 2017.
