NCC is building a substantial section of the West Link’s double track rail line beneath central Gothenburg. The Centralen section includes a bridge over the E6 motorway to the east, the new underground station Centralen and around 2 km of connecting rail tunnel, some of which will run through rock.
The Korsvägen section of the West Link will be built by NCC and German company Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG and will involve around 3.2 km double track, the majority of which will be in a tunnel, plus a new underground station to be constructed at the Korsvägen transport hub in central Gothenburg.
One of Sörmland’s biggest construction projects of modern times is now in full swing. Sörmland County Council has commissioned NCC to build workplaces and patient care facilities for the health service of the future. Four major newbuild projects and a number of refits are to be carried out as the County Council modernizes its operations at three of the county’s hospitals.
In Nordhavn district in Copenhagen a unique and complex project is under way. NCC is creating a new man-made island, with apartments and an underground car park. Creating a new island is in a league of its own and has required years of preparation, where many of the competencies within NCC are combined to allow for a seamless construction process.
In 2018, NCC won a contract with Bane NOR to build a stretch of double track on the rail line from Venjar to north of Eidsvoll station in Akershus. The new double track will be operational by autumn 2022 and the contract work will be fully completed by summer 2023.
NCC has worked with Liseberg on expanding the largest amusement park in the Nordic region. The contract included an experience hotel with a total sum of contract: 850 MSEK.
NCC and Trondheim Municipality signed a contract for the construction of the new Granåsen Sports Park on 9 April. The project has been optimized through an initial coordination phase, and participants in the project have jointly drawn up robust technical solutions and plans for the implementation phase. The contract value is approximately NOK 470 million.
NCC will build the A building included in the first stage of the Oulu University Hospital 2030 program. As part of the cooperation based alliance project, we will create up-to-date and uniform facilities for the Northern Ostrobothnia Hospital District, which will contribute to the modernization of the hospital's operating models and structures and improve productivity and quality of care.
In partnership with the Swedish Transport Administration, NCC, in consortium with Spain’s Obrascon Huarte Lain, S.A. (OHL), is building four new rail tracks between Lund and Arlöv in Skåne, southern Sweden. The contract also includes refitting the stations in Hjärup, Åkarp and Burlöv as well as a new station in southern Lund.
NCC is building two subsea road tunnels, and a round about, on the Faroe Islands. The contract is divided into two sub-projects with a total contract value of 2,7 billion SEK.

NCC has worked with Spridd architectural practice to develop Fittja People’s Palace specifically for the renovation of homes built in the 1960s and 70s as part of the Million Program public housing project. This is a concept that respects the residents’ interests while at the same time providing simple and practical solutions to the renovation needs. The concept won first prize in the Swedish part of the Nordic Built Challenge.
