NCC to construct sand recycling plant for Boliden in Skellefteå
NCC has been commissioned by Boliden to construct a sand recycling plant in Boliden, Skellefteå, Sweden. The assignment is in the form of a construction contract.
NCC’s assignment encompasses the construction of a sand recycling building, a silo, a media bridge and some of the plant’s technology installations.
“This project requires the integration of several different areas of expertise within NCC. Our long-standing experience of large-scale and technical construction projects in challenging environments, including within the mining and industrial sectors, makes us a secure partner for Boliden in the construction of this important facility,” says Kenneth Nilsson, Head of NCC Infrastructure.
NCC is also carrying out the reconstruction of Boliden’s electrolysis plant at Rönnskär in Skelleftehamn.
Construction is scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2025 and the project is expected to be completed in 2026.
The assignment will be registered among orders in the second quarter of 2025 in
NCC Infrastructure Sweden business area.
