NCC lets Kulma21 in Helsinki to Wolt

NCC has signed a lease with technology company Wolt, which is relocating its head office to Kulma21 in Helsinki. Wolt is leasing the entire property and will move in when the renovation work is completed in mid-2023.

The property comprises approximately 7 600 square meters, is located in central Helsinki and is known as the student union KY Building. For the past year, NCC has been refurbishing and remodeling the property to turn it into a modern, sustainable and multifunctional office block.

“Kulma21 is being remodeled and developed for the work life of the future, featuring flexible office premises and proximity to services. We look forward to having Wolt as tenants and to creating a head office for a brand with a modern culture. The KY Building will remain a landmark for the future,” says Joachim Holmberg, Head of Property Development.

The building has seven floors above ground and will be the first refurbishment project to qualify for the BREEAM Excellent environmental rating in Finland.

“We are delighted to have found new premises for our head office in such a central location. The KY Building is a legendary location and many of our employees have good memories of it from their student days. We believe that the central location will also contribute to attracting more people to Wolt. Already now, we have some 90 vacant positions at the head office,” says Matti-Esko Seppä, Vice President People, at Wolt.

More information about the project is available at Kulma21.com, where you can also read about the history of the KY Building.
