NCC to build new nursing home in Jönköping

NCC has been commissioned by Jönköping Municipality to construct a new nursing home and group home and to carry out associated earth and groundworks in Jönköping. The project will be in the form of a construction contract with a fixed price and an order value of approximately SEK 370 million.

The new nursing home will have three floors and a total of 97 residential apartments with spaces for staff, day activities, socializing, administration and operations. The project also includes a group home with six residential apartments, each with its own entrance, patio and shared spaces such as a greenhouse, waste sorting room and storage areas.

“NCC has built many nursing homes across Sweden and we will be able to bring our broad experience from a wide range of similar projects to bear in this contract. We look forward to helping Jönköping Municipality achieve its objectives with a modern nursing home and group home in purpose-built premises with a low climate footprint,” says Niklas Sparw, Head of NCC Building Sweden.

In total, almost 20,000 square meters will be developed in the Omtanken 1 property in Jönköping. The nursing home will feature a cross-laminated timber (CLT) frame and associated weather protection.

The project will commence in the third quarter of 2025 and is scheduled for completion in autumn 2028. The order value is approximately SEK 370 million and will be registered in the NCC Building Sweden business area in the third quarter of 2025.
