NCC, Oslobygg KF, Nuno Arkitektur and other consultants have been working together since May 2022 to develop and plan the new swim center, which will be a modern facility with a wide range of facilities.

The swim center will comprise more than 8,600 square meters and include a 25-meter main pool with eight lanes, a diving pool, children’s pool, family pool, exercise pool, hot tub, water slide, hot and cold plunge pools and three saunas. Social spaces, a gym, activity rooms, cafés and office space for the employees will also be built.

“Over the years, NCC has built many swim centers. We are now using that experience and knowledge to create a swim center with consistent quality and efficient operation. The partnership with Oslobygg KF and other parties has been highly constructive and the people of Oslo can look forward to a modern swim center with a full range of services,” says Catarina Molén-Runnäs, Head of NCC Building Nordics.

NCC and Oslobygg KF have set ambitious climate targets for the project, and the construction process will take the form of a fossil-free construction site using mainly emission-free construction equipment. The facility will also have sedum plants and solar panels on the roof.

Construction will commence immediately and is scheduled for completion in 2026.

The project is a turnkey contract and the order value of SEK 800 million will be registered in the NCC Building Nordics business area in the second quarter 2023.
