NCC divests Road Services Denmark to Arkil A/S
NCC divests the Danish part of the Road Services division to Arkil A/S through a share purchase agreement. The transaction will have a marginal positive effect on NCC earnings.
“The divestment represents another tangible step in our ambition to divest the entire Road Services division in a responsible manner. Through the agreement with Arkil, Road Services Denmark will get the best opportunity to continue to develop,” says Tomas Carlsson, CEO of NCC.
“We welcome the employees of Danish NCC Road Services to Arkil, together we can now offer our customers a greater range of road related services. We know that the Road Services employees are very professional and competent, and we very much look forward to getting to know each other,” says Jørgen Søndergaard, CEO of Arkil A/S.
The sale is carried out as a share purchase agreement and the handover of the business is expected to take place in the third quarter 2020. The transaction is subject to customary filing with the Danish Competition Authorities.
The divestment of the remaining parts of Road Services in Sweden, Finland and Norway is ongoing.
In October 2018, NCC communicated its ambition to divest the Road Services division. The division has few synergies with other parts of NCC and profitability has been low over a number of years, but the business has potential to develop well with the right owner. A first step was already carried out in December 2018, when the road safety part, named ViaSafe Sweden, was sold to Ramudden.
