NCC to start the construction of the first phase of the major hospital project in Oulu, Finland

NCC will begin the construction of the major hospital project in Oulu, Finland. With the new hospital plans, which were made after the initial construction contract was signed in November 2017, NCC’s share of the project has increased by about SEK 400 million and is now altogether about SEK 1,100 million.

The customer is the Joint municipal authority of the health care district of Northern Ostrobothnia.

“Now we can start building with the new altered construction plans and with the new targets negotiated by the alliance,” says Mika Soini, Head of NCC Building Finland.

Demolition works at the site have been ongoing since 2017 and the last ones will be done in early 2019. The construction will begin in March 2019 and will be finished by the end of 2023.

The new total contract price is about SEK 1,100 million. In November 2017 NCC informed about the initial signing of the contract and order registered SEK 700 million. The increase of the scope implies an order increase of SEK 400 million that will be registered in the first quarter of 2019 in business area NCC Building Nordics.
