NCC to renovate the facade of Søborg Tower

NCC has been commissioned by labor market pension fund PensionDanmark to renovate the facade of the Søborg Tower office building in Gladsaxe Municipality, north of Copenhagen, Denmark. The 15-story building is the former headquarters of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation.

Built in the 1960s, the office building’s approximately 5,000-square-meter facade now needs to be replaced. NCC and PensionDanmark have jointly conducted extensive project planning and design work to develop technical and aesthetic solutions. The installation of these will generate minimal disturbance for the building’s tenants and the surrounding neighbors.

“When as contractor we are involved early in the process, we can plan and work together with all parties to ensure the quality of the project and that it comes in on budget and on schedule, thereby avoiding unexpected challenges during the construction process. It is an honor to be part of giving this iconic building a facelift,” says Catarina Molén-Runnäs, Head of NCC Building Nordics.

The renovation process has commenced and completion is scheduled for the beginning of 2027. The order will be registered in the NCC Building Nordics business area in the second quarter of 2025.
