NCC awarded construction contract by Danish Ministry of Defence Estate Agency

NCC has been commissioned by the Danish Ministry of Defence Estate Agency to construct a workshop and multi-purpose building with a sustainability focus at the Aalborg barracks in Jutland. The order value is approximately SEK 170 million.

The contract includes the construction of a standard workshop and a specially designed multi-purpose building containing offices, changing rooms and service areas. The project is part of the Danish Armed Forces’ “Green establishments” initiative, which aims to limit energy consumption and CO₂ emissions through the use of sustainable solutions that are cost-efficient, noticeable in day-to-day operations, and that can raise awareness of resource use.

NCC has drafted measures to limit energy consumption over the course of the project by restricting materials use and waste and by sorting waste to maximize its recovery.

Work will begin during spring 2022 and the new buildings are scheduled to be completed in the summer 2023.

The contract is valued at approximately SEK 170 million and will be registered among orders in the second quarter of 2022 in the NCC Building Nordics business area.
