Divestment of NCC Road Services in Denmark to Arkil will not go ahead

In July 2020, NCC entered an agreement with Arkil A/S to divest the road service business in Denmark with 200 employees. The divestment was conditional upon approval from the Danish competition authorities with an option to withdraw if the conditions had not been met at a certain time. Arkil has now decided to use that option.

The process with the competition authorities has taken longer than expected and Arkil has decided to use the option to withdraw. NCC will continue to run the business, while considering options for divestment going forward.

“NCC Road Services in Denmark is a healthy business that solves a wide range of tasks for both public and private customers. We have dedicated employees who are continuing to work efficiently on winning and delivering on our contracts”, says Kenneth Nilsson, Head of NCC Infrastructure.

NCC Road Services in Denmark has a number of operating agreements and specialist fields in sweeping, road service area maintenance, signage and traffic handling, weed control and in situ cast curbstone. Road Services Denmark works nationwide through seven regional offices. The business has approximately 200 employees.

NCC Road Services in Denmark and Norway is reported as part of the segment Other & eliminations in NCC’s financial reports. The road service business in Sweden and Finland was divested during 2020.
