NCC to refurbish police premises in Karlstad
NCC has been commissioned by Skandrenting and the Swedish Police Authority to refurbish and expand the Authority’s office premises in Karlstad. The project will gather a large part of Karlstad’s police operations under one roof. The project is a turnkey contract in partnering form with an order value of approximately SEK 500 million.
“The Swedish Police Authority and Skandrenting has been examining the possibility to refurbish and extend its premises in Karlstad, based on current conditions. The Authority is one of our most important tenants and we are proud to contribute to its critical societal function. As a property owner, we have a long-term responsibility to provide fit-for-purpose, safe and secure premises nationwide,” says Johannes Nyberg, CEO, Skandrenting.
“NCC has extensive and broad experience of projects subject to high safety and security standards. We have been involved already from the planning phase and were able to contribute our collective experience and expertise from similar projects to help Skandrenting and the Police Authority achieve their objectives with the project,” says Niklas Sparw, Head of NCC Building Sweden.
During the autumn, NCC will begin work on constructing additional office premises of approximately 8,200 square meters, followed by the modernization and adaptation of the existing premises of approximately 8,800 square meters.
The order value is approximately SEK 500 million and will be registered in the NCC Building Sweden business area in the third quarter of 2025. Construction is scheduled to start in the autumn of 2025 and is scheduled to be completed in 2030.
