Our way of working

Did you know that stone, after water and air, is the raw material we use the most in society? Without stone and aggregates, we would not be able to build homes, hospitals, schools, roads, or railways. A good work environment, with a strong safety culture, is also essential. That’s why we are focused on protecting both our employees and the environment.

How we protect biodiversity

All our operations are based on permits, which include a comprehensive review of the intended activities and, among other things, an environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the gravel pit or quarry we want to put into operation. But we strive to do more than that.

Our most comprehensive action plan - NCC Kielo

It’s not just us who appreciate our gravel pits and quarries throughout the Nordic region. Many other species of animals and plants do as well. That’s why we work methodically to promote biodiversity over time at several of our facilities. We call this NCC Kielo.

How we operate at our quarries

With permits also comes the responsibility to protect those who live in and around the quarry. Among other things, we must ensure that noise levels are not too high, that the groundwater is not harmed, and that the natural wildlife and habitats are not disturbed.

Product development, innovation, and resource efficiency

We need to continuously adapt and develop new ways of working, products, and solutions to meet new needs and requirements from customers, authorities, and legislation. It’s not just about staying at the forefront of technology and innovation—it’s about building a future that everyone can be proud of.

Health and Safety

A good work environment has a profound positive effect on a workplace, both in terms of company culture, productivity, health, and safety. It is also a fundamental prerequisite for managing the complexity of the construction process and is one of our most important focus areas.
