Concreting works on the Loenga-Ekebergåsen line

NCC has been commissioned by Bane NOR in Norway to carry out concreting works on the Loenga-Ekebergåsen line, a part of the expansion of the Follo Line between Oslo and Ski — Norway’s largest infrastructure project of the modern era.

"NCC has successfully completed projects for Bane NOR in recent years, including the Storberget project in Porsgrunn. We are also in the starting gate to build the Venjar-Eidsvoll line," says Per Jonsson, Division Manager NCC Civil Engineering Norway.

The main portion of the Loenga-Ekebergåsen project consists of 18,000 cubic meters of concreting works in an excavated trench and a tunnel blasted out of the rock. Furthermore, NCC will build several conduits in and outside the culverts, two service buildings and a walkable service culvert at Loenga.
In awarding the contract, NCC Infrastructure was evaluated on the basis of both price and performance of the assignment.

The work will begin shortly after the contract is signed, and is expected to be complete in the autumn of 2019. The Follo Line project, which will link Oslo and Ski with a new double track railway, is the innermost part of the InterCity expansion southeast of Oslo and Norway's largest infrastructure project in modern times. The new double track is planned to be put into operation in 2021.
