Business Developer – Green Industry Transformation 

The green industrial transition is driving a historic transformation of society and industry, creating significant value economically, technologically and environmentally. NCC Green Industry Transformation plays a key role in enabling this transition through large, complex and strategically important industrial and infrastructure projects across the Nordics. 

We are now looking for a Business Developer who wants to be at the forefront of identifying, analysing and actively driving new business opportunities, with a clear focus on building and processing a strong and commercially relevant project pipeline that supports NCC’s long-term growth and profitability. 

 

The Role and Key Responsibilities 
As a Business Developer, reporting to the Head of Strategy and Business Development, you will have a central role in driving early-phase business development by identifying, analysing and prioritising new projects of interest. 

You will work closely with senior management and key stakeholders across the business area as well as the wider NCC organisation, combining strong analytical capabilities with a proactive, hands-on and commercially driven approach. 

The role includes taking initiative in early customer dialogue, building trust-based relationships and actively pushing opportunities forward to a stage where they are ready to enter contracting and tender processes. You will own and drive selected segments and customer relationships, working cross-functionally to create momentum and ensure alignment. 

The position is located in Solna, Malmö, Göteborg or Luleå, travels to other offices in the business area is required as part of the job. 

 

You will: 

  • Identify and analyse new segments of interest aligned with strategic priorities, quantify business opportunities and assess how the segments contribute to the overall business area strategy
     
  • Ensure continuous market, customer and project insight through structured analysis and active external engagement to support prioritisation and decision-making across geographies in scope
     
  • Prepare, initiate and develop early customer interactions, ensuring clear positioning, trust and continuity
     
  • Act as customer responsible for one or several prioritised segments in close collaboration with relevant functions and business area management
     
  • Build, develop and maintain strong internal networks within NCC and relevant external industry networks
      
  • Interact with business area management through continuous updates on business development status, ensuring alignment with strategic direction and priorities 
     

Your experience and background 
We believe you have several years of hands-on experience from roles within business development, sales, strategy or project development in construction-related sectors, and a strong interest in creating new business opportunities and driving them forward. 

You have a good understanding of market dynamics, customer needs and early-stage project development, and are comfortable working with structured analysis and decision support. 

You are a driven, curious and forward-leaning professional with strong business acumen and the ability to engage stakeholders at different levels. You enjoy taking initiative, building relationships and turning insights into concrete opportunities. 

You are fluent in both Swedish and English, with English as the primary business language. 

Academic degree equivalent to an MSc, or equivalent work experience in a relevant field. 
 

Requested qualifications 

  • Understanding of industrial projects and the early phases of the project lifecycle
  • Strong analytical and hypothesis-driven problem-solving skills
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Strong networking and relationship-building capabilities  
  • An enthusiastic, outgoing personality – able to be “tough with a smile”  
  • Valid driver’s license (Category B)
