A shopping centre with services for all everyday needs
The shopping centre has over 8,000 m2 of commercial premises available for lease. Grocery stores K-Supermarket and S-Market are located in the centre and a wide range of small specialty stores as well as private and public services such as a city library, gym and pharmacy.
Visible and central location
The shopping centre is located in Laajasalo in eastern Helsinki along the busy Laajasalontie. The direct distance to the centre of Helsinki is three kilometres, but the driving distance to downtown Helsinki is some 10 kilometres. The closest top-class commercial services are located in Herttoniemi at a distance of five kilometres.
The distance to downtown Helsinki may become significantly shorter in the future because the bridge to be built between Kruunuvuorenranta and the city centre, including a tram line, is located two kilometres from the shopping centre. According to the boulevard vision of the City of Helsinki, the new tram line will travel right in front of the shopping centre.
Growing population within the impact zone
The commercial impact zone of the Laajasalo shopping centre consists of Laajasalo and Santahamina. The shopping centre is located in the Yliskylä area which is the most significant and ever growing residential centre in Laajasalo. A significant amount of new purchasing power will be present in Kruunuvuori which offers new residences for 11,000 people. The Kruunuvuorenranta district will be completed after 2025.
Centre with a BREEAM environmental certificate
The Laajasalo shopping centre will reach the Very Good level of the international BREEAM environmental certification system. The requirements set by BREEAM, the most common environmental certification system in Europe, guide the design of the shopping centre in ten different categories. Various evaluation criteria include the transportation distance of building materials, the surrounding infrastructure, accessibility using public transportation, energy efficiency, the use of chemicals and waste processing.
