NCC to construct school and sports hall in Lilla Edet Municipality

NCC is partnering with EdetHus and Lilla Edet Municipality in the construction of Ekebergs School (Sw. Ekebergsskolan) for 500 students as well as a full-scale sports hall in Lödöse. The project is a turnkey contract in partnering form with an order value of approximately SEK 340 million.

“We are very excited to take the next step with Ekebergsskolan. The new school will be an important addition for the municipality and create strong conditions for future students. We look forward to a close collaboration with NCC to realize this important investment,” says Tomas Reuterberg, CEO of EdetHus.

NCC’s contract encompasses the construction of a primary school (grades F–6) for 500 students and an associated afterschool care center and kitchen, as well as a full-scale sports hall, which will be adapted to serve as a safe haven in the event of any crisis.

The school is being designed to allow later expansion to accommodate an additional 150 students. The project is scheduled to be completed before the autumn term 2028 and marks a key step toward meeting future needs in the southern part of the Municipality.

“Partnering with EdetHus and Lilla Edet Municipality from an early stage has allowed us to contribute with our experience and expertise gained from the many school projects that NCC has delivered. We look forward to working together to create new facilities for students, community organizations, and businesses in Lödöse,” says Niklas Sparw, Head of NCC Building Sweden.

The order value is approximately SEK 340 million and the order will be registered in the NCC Building Sweden business area in the second quarter of 2026.
