NCC signs SEK 1.3 billion contract for hospital project in Oulu, Finland

NCC has been commissioned to continue construction of Oulu University Hospital in Finland with the assignment to construct building F. This is part of the second phase of the hospital’s development program and the order value is approximately SEK 1.3 billion.

NCC is currently constructing building A at Oulu University Hospital, and the first parts of this building will be taken into use in a year’s time. The customer is the Joint Municipal Authority of the Northern Ostrobothnia Hospital District.

“To construct large, state-of-the-art hospitals featuring the latest technology places high demands on us as contractors and on our customers, and therefore collaboration is crucial. Our successful cooperation with the Joint Municipal Authority of the Northern Ostrobothnia Hospital District will be a great foundation to build on as we embark on the next phase,” says Catarina Molén-Runnäs, Head of NCC Building Nordics.

The F building, comprising approximately 33,000 square meters, will include laboratory, pharmacy and imaging facilities, as well as the oncology ward and oncology outpatient clinic.

”It's great that we can utilize the project management processes, tools and design solutions, that we have developed and executed together during the first phase”, says Kari-Pekka Tampio, Program Director of the OYS2030 program.

Preparatory works at the site has started and construction will commence in January 2022, with completion scheduled for June 2025.

The order value is approximately SEK 1.3 billion and it will be registered in the fourth quarter of 2021 in the NCC Building Nordics business area.
