NCC signs framework agreement to build school in Staffanstorp

NCC and Staffanstorps Kommunfastigheter AB have signed a strategic partnering agreement for new construction and conversion of the company’s properties. The framework agreement, with an estimated order value of between SEK 400 and 700 million, will run for two years with an option for a two-year extension. An initial project in the framework agreement is a new school for some 550 students and an associated sports facility.

“NCC has a working method for strategic partnering that is solid, and suitable for Staffanstorps Fastigheter AB, and we look forward to the partnership,” says Göran Sturesson, CEO of Staffanstorps Kommunfastigheter AB.

The framework agreement in its entirety includes conversion, expansion and new construction work as well as demolition, if necessary, of Staffanstorps Kommunfastigheter’s buildings. Initially, NCC will build a new school in Staffanstorp with an associated sports hall. The new school, to be named Norra skolan, will accommodate 550 students from preschool class to grade 6.

The collaboration will take place through strategic partnering, a form of cooperation where both parties contribute expertise and experience at an early stage of the project and work together to develop a better final product. The work on the initial Norra skolan project will be initiated immediately. Construction is expected to start in 2019.

“NCC has years of strong experience with working in strategic partnering, and we are also one of the operators building the most schools in Sweden right now. We will bring these experiences and lessons with us as we continue our long-term collaboration with Staffanstorps Kommunfastigheter,” says Henrik Landelius, Head of business area NCC Building Sweden.

The framework agreement will run for two years, with the possibility of a two-year extension. The estimated order value for the framework agreement is approximately SEK 400–700 million for the entire period, and order registration will take place on a continual basis in accordance with call-offs, in the NCC Building business area.
