The residential neighborhood was built in the 1960s and is now in need of refurbishment. Bright, modern and energy-efficient housing is now being created for the neighborhood’s residents, and legacy issues in terms of thermal bridges and damp in the apartments will now be remedied. Residents will receive improvements including new, larger bathrooms, new kitchens and new finishes. The technical installations will be replaced and new ventilation and heating systems will be installed in the buildings.

NCC’s assignment also includes equipping the buildings with new roofs, windows, entrances and balconies in all blocks. Elevators will also be installed in 11 of the buildings. The outdoor areas will be renewed to inspire activities across all age groups all year round with the aim of promoting social interaction and community, which together can create a safe and enjoyable neighborhood.

“Such large and extensive refurbishment projects match exactly with our core expertise. We are ensuring that residents here have modern, energy-efficient apartments as well as a good living environment in the areas around the buildings. We are simply applying a holistic approach to boost the entire neighborhood,” says Catarina Molén-Runnäs, Head of NCC Building Nordics.

Work commences in the third quarter of 2023 with completion expected in summer 2027.

The order of approximately SEK 550 million will be registered in the second quarter of 2023 in the NCC Building Nordics business area.
