NCC secures two major asphalt contracts in northern Sweden

NCC has been awarded two major asphalt-laying contracts in northern Sweden. The projects concern the sections of road between Avakko and Lappeasuando in Gällivare and Grimsmark and Gumboda in Västerbotten, with a total order value of approximately SEK 175 million.

NCC to construct correctional facility in Kristianstad

NCC is partnering with Intea to construct a new correctional facility in Vä, just outside Kristianstad, for the tenant, the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. The parties have jointly designed and planned the project, which is now transitioning to the construction phase. The project is a turnkey contract in partnering form with an order value of approximately SEK 650 million.

Changes to NCC’s Nomination Committee

Mats Hellström, representing Nordea Fonder, will become a new member of NCC’s Nomination Committee. Anna Magnusson, representing Första AP-fonden (First AP Fund), is leaving the Nomination Committee as the fund is being consolidated at year-end.

NCC organizes Awareness day for the fifteenth consecutive year – accident rates falling

Tomorrow, Awareness day will be held at all of NCC’s workplaces in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. The activity is an important part of NCC’s efforts to create a strong safety-oriented corporate culture. The focus this year will be on risk behaviors.

NCC commences partnership for large correctional facility in Trelleborg

NCC has signed a partnering agreement with Specialfastigheter to construct one of Sweden’s largest correctional facilities for the tenant Swedish Prison and Probation Service in Trelleborg. In the first stage, the parties will jointly plan and design the project.

NCC’s Christmas gift will support young people learning mathematics

NCC continues to support learning among children and young people. This year’s Christmas donation of SEK 1.5 million will go to four organizations in the Nordic region that provide tutoring for children and young people, which can expand opportunities for a career in construction and civil engineering. In Sweden, NCC is also initiating a long-term partnership with the Mattecentrum tutoring agency.

Emissions from a renovated office building account for approximately 40% of those from a new building

NCC developed the former KY Building in the Kamppi area of Helsinki into an office building with modern spaces. The carbon footprint of the current property called Kulma21 was calculated based on realised data and compared to that of a similar new building which could have been constructed in the same site. As a result, some interesting data were acquired as to whether or not the existing building was worth demolishing or renovating.

NCC in Finland wins the Construction Site of the Year competition

NCC's construction site Project Boost C5 in Vallila, Helsinki, has won the Finnish Construction Site of the Year competition organized by the construction magazine Rakennuslehti. Boost C5 is an office building to be used by Nordea, and the project is commissioned by global real estate developer Pembroke.

Cargotec will move its premises to NCC's We Land office building in Helsinki

NCC Property Development has signed a lease agreement with Cargotec, which will be moving its headquarters to the We Land office building, due to be completed next year in the Ruoholahti area of Helsinki. Cargotec plans to occupy about 2,000 square meters on We Land’s top floors.
