Ann-Marie Hedbeck named General Counsel of NCC

Ann-Marie Hedbeck has been appointed General Counsel of NCC. She has been Acting General Counsel on two occasions, once in the Executive Management Team and once in the expanded Executive Management Team, since the end of August.

NCC’s Anders Torell named Nordic CIO of the Year

Anders Torell has been named Nordic CIO of the Year by international networking company Management Events for his work as CIO at NCC Industry and in this current position as CEO of NCC’s Loop Industries. The prize was awarded at the Nordic Strategy Forum Executive IT conference, where Anders Torell was selected from among a group of nominees that included Tommi Tuovila, CIO of Neste, and Åshild Hanne Larsen, CIO of Equinor.

NCC raises Operations Development to Executive Management Group level with Ylva Lageson

NCC is raising Operations Development to the Executive Management Group level with Ylva Lageson as Head of Operational Development and IT (ODIT). The new function in the Executive Management Group will develop NCC’s processes and work methods, develop NCC’s strategic work, IT and digitalization. Fredrik Vernersson has been appointed new Head of Strategy reporting to Ylva Lageson. He is currently working with transformation services at McKinsey & Company.

NCC sells office building in Aarhus to Topdanmark Properties

Per 30 June 2018 Topdanmark Properties A/S has acquired Zenit Company House I.2, which is built by NCC and contains just over 3,500 m2 of office space in three floors.

NCC sells office building in Espoo

NCC has sold the fifth and last office building of the Alberga Business Park to OP-Vuokratuotto Special Investment Fund.

Lower construction costs with Nordic cooperation

The Nordic countries have agreed to strengthen cooperation around the harmonization of building regulations and standards. Greater harmonization has been found to promote a more integrated market for labor and products, with cost benefits for property owners, contractors and the public sector.

Håkan Broman named Legal Counsel of the Year 2018 and Jessica Hellner as finalist in Rising Star of the Year 2018

NCC had both an award winner and a finalist when the Affärsvärlden business magazine presented its Legal Counsel of the Year and Rising Star of the Year awards for 2018. Håkan Broman, General Counsel and acting CEO of NCC, was named as Legal Counsel of the Year and Jessica Hellner, acting General Counsel of NCC Infrastructure, was nominated in the Rising Star of the Year category.

NCC’s SVP Corporate Sustainability Christina Lindbäck has been ranked as one of the most influential people in sustainability in Sweden. Christina Lindbäck is ranked 75. Sustainability is a prioritized area for NCC and essential to maintaining its leading position and generating growth.

Strengthened brand for NCC in the media

NCC has strengthened its external footprint in the media with more news, an increased share of positive articles, and greater visibility for its focus areas. These are the main results in an analysis by media monitoring firm Retriever, conducted between 2014 and 2017.

NCC promoting diversity and gender equality to increase competitiveness

Today is International Women’s Day and for NCC, gender equality and diversity are key issues for improving competitiveness and building a more inclusive society. If the shareholders approve a motion submitted to the Annual General Meeting in early April, five of NCC’s eight Board members will be women. In 2017, four of ten members of NCC’s management groups, on average, were women. However, for the company as a whole, a clear majority of employees (87 percent) are men.

NCC projects selected as best practice of Sustainable Buildings

Three of NCC’s projects have been selected as Nordic best practice of Sustainable Buildings and Construction in a study published in January 2018. The purpose of the report, made by the Nordic Council of Ministers, was to encourage accelerated action by all key stakeholders in the Nordic countries, as well as sharing of lessons learned internationally, by displaying practical and innovative examples.
