NCC and Volvo Trucks have jointly developed a digital service to increase the efficiency of loading and removal of excavation rubble. The service is now being tested at NCC’s worksite at the Centralen subproject of the West Link tunnel project and will eliminate the need for thousands of truck journeys and reduce CO2 emissions by a thousand tons.
Deloitte will bring its Finnish headquarters and over 700 employees to the We Land building to be completed in the K. A. Fagerholm Square in the Ruoholahti district of Helsinki in 2022. The target set for We Land, a concept developed by NCC, is to upgrade the Ruoholahti district into one of Helsinki’s most attractive areas. The building is designed to meet the exceptionally high BREEAM rating of Outstanding.
NCC has partnered up with CHAOS to be on pulse of the Ruoholahti residents, frequent area users, and workers to build the most sustainable and innovative business and co-creation hub in Helsinki – We Land. CHAOS supports project’s digitalisation by bringing forward demographics, and citizens’ sentiments.

Today is International Women’s Day, and the trend at NCC is toward a more equal company. If the shareholders vote “yes” at the Annual General Meeting, both the Executive Team and the Board of Directors will be completely equal. NCC’s management teams are 40 percent women and 60 percent men, but in total the company is 86 percent men.
NCC has been awarded first prize in the Finnish health and safety competition "Turvallisuus alkaa minusta” (Safety starts with me) where the winning worksite scored a historical maximum 100 in the TR-index, an index that is used to measure health and safety standard.
A swan label residential building which NCC built for VAV has been nominated for an innovation award by Asuntomarkkinat, an annual housing event. This year the competition focuses on solutions and services that help control and prevent climate change.
