Peippo school will cover approximately 7,000 square meters and include classrooms for approximately 450 students from preschool to year 6. Under the plans, the school building will also be used for activities in the evening.
In the initial development phase, NCC worked closely with the City of Porvoo and the project’s other partners to plan solutions, functionality and the selection of materials ahead of the start of production.
“Through early involvement in the project, we were able to bring the experiences we have gained from other school projects, while agreeing solutions together with the other parties and ensuring that we achieve the project’s objectives. We are now looking forward to turning the first sod and initiating construction,” says Catarina Molén Runnäs, Head of NCC Building Nordics.
Demolition work started in April, followed by the start of preparatory groundwork and construction. The project is scheduled for completion in spring 2028.
The assignment has an order value of about SEK 270 million and will be registered in the NCC Building Nordics business area in the second quarter of 2026.
