NCC to build infrastructure in new Stockholm district
In partnership with Stora Sköndals Bygg and Stora Sköndals Framtidsutveckling, NCC is to build the infrastructure for the new Stora Sköndal district in southern Stockholm, Sweden. The parties have now reached an agreement on the second phase of the project, including earthworks, utility works and the construction of streets and green spaces.

“It is essential for us to work with a contractor that has solid experience of complex development projects and of constructing public spaces and technical infrastructure. These are qualities we found in NCC. Our partnership provides the solid foundation we need to achieve a sustainable implementation,” says Tomas Krywult, CEO of Stora Sköndals Framtidsutveckling.
“Stora Sköndal is an ambitious, long-term urban development project in which collaboration is essential to creating the right solutions from the outset. By working closely with the customer from an early stage, we have laid the foundation for efficient implementation,” says Tomas Brannemo, Head of NCC Infrastructure.
Stora Sköndal is being developed in phases, and the current phase involves the construction of approximately 1,750 new residential units, a school for students aged 6–16 years with a sports hall, new preschools, parks and premises for services and retail.
NCC will now construct the area’s infrastructure by conducting earthworks and by relocating utilities, and will build a new main street, local streets, parks and other green spaces. NCC carried out the corresponding work in the first phase of the project.
In the initial phase, the parties are focusing on planning and design to ensure sound technical, financial and implementation conditions. Thanks to NCC’s early involvement, the production phase can now begin quickly.
Construction is set to commence in June 2026 and the project is scheduled to be completed in 2031. The transaction will be registered among orders in the NCC Infrastructure business area during the second quarter of 2026.
